About the event
Learn how perinatal harm reduction was born from movements led by queer and trans women of color and disability activists. We are here because we stand on the shoulders of those who dedicated their lives to the struggle for liberation of oppressed groups and the ongoing struggle against white supremacy and racial capitalism. See how our work overlaps with Reproductive and Disability Justice, Abolition, and organized resistance to the Drug War as we work to dismantle manifestations of the New Jim Crow* in supposed systems of care.
During this session, you will learn how to recognize recreation of surveillance, policing, punishment, and control in the systems where we live, work, and access care. Along the path to liberation, there are many incremental reforms we can make to keep ourselves and our communities safer.
